No insurance payout till I'm 18?
I was recently involved in an accident between a motorcycle and a car (November 2nd, I'm the biker) and things have gone really smoothly so far. The car driver admitted liability instantly, I've received interim payments for the bike, my gear and the bike's storage fees. A letter from my insurers just arrived talking about a quick court appearance just to put the 'rubber stamp' on things for my injury payout which will be over 1000, but the letter also states that I won't get this money until I'm 18 - 6 months from now. I was wondering if anybody knows why this rule is in place and if anything can be done about it? I was budgeting to use the money for car insurance. Thanks
