How can you increase a crochet pattern?

I have a pattern that I'd like to work into a beanie. The pattern takes three rows to complete, but I can't find anything online that explains how to increase patterns. I know how to do a sc increase and decrease, as well as doubles and trebles. But I don't know how to increase the entire pattern as a whole. The pattern itself creates a small loop in the stitching and I'd like to repeat that loop.
