I think Nat The Lemon is on the right track. Be honest with her, but tactful; tell her you like her as a friend, and don't want to lose her friendship; that's part of the reason you answered her too fast. You never know what will happen in the future, though; feelings can change. Let her know that you don't like her in a girlfriend way right now.
