How can a "perfect" human sacrifice be a good thing?!?
Sin is selfishness, and it corrupts all things exposed to it, Humans, plants, weather, animals, and every cell of this universe. It is simply put a perversion of God's good gifts. Sin requires death. In the Old Testament they "covered" sin, not forgiven, just covered, in anticipation of the Meshiach Immanuel, it is reflected in their festivals "Feast of Trumpets" they blow a Ram's Horn(Shofar) to herald the Meshiach's coming, seven days after that is the Day of Atonement(Yom Kippur) when they fast and prepare for His Coming(make their paths straight-John the Baptist), then He arrives at their Summer's end Harvest of Tabernacles, when they build temporary shelters(like the Nativity scene, or tents, or both) and spend 8 days celebrating His return some day. The more you know the more sacrifice makes sense, a lamb signifies innocence, and sin destroys it, the same with goats, cattle, doves, flour, etc. The Festival you mentioned is Yom Kippur when the Azazel Goat is released with the sins of nation upon it(represents Satan in the end), and the other goat is sacrificed(Christ) to appease God's wrath for sin's transference to whom it rightfully belongs to, the author of the first sin Helel the annointed cherubim that fell to become Satan(The Adversary). Christ took the pain of sin for all of us, so we wouldn't be destroyed by our sin, and then died for our sins banishing them once and for all to the orchestrator of all sin, the Adversary. God found peace with Christ's suffering, because Christ could come back from that place, we could not, and now we have changed places in God's eyes as His children. As for the God couldn't argument, In order for there to be justice for those wronged by sin, God must punish the sin, but now that Christ took our place in that, we all don't have to if we submit, but those who do not, get what rightfully comes to them, and justice is served for their complete and total disregard for their fellow human beings, and their lack of charity, compion, and love for their fellow man.
