Why do so many care about the American casualties in Iraq, but nobody cares about Iraqi casualties?

I personally believe most Americans are too worried and patriotic to think about anyone other than themselves. To them, the troops are there to aide and make peace with the Iraqi people. Plus the news doesn't cover enough about the deaths of Iraqi people. I have so for yet to see a news report saying an Iraqi civilian was killed.
