What is the conflict in the tell tale heart by edgar allan poe?

it is an inner conflict with himself because he killed the guy and now he feels so guilty he hears the heart beating through the floorboards and if this is a school ignment you should try to figure it out on your own but I guess that is a mute point since I already gave you my input
