Can you have another thyroid uptake test after taking the same test 2 days ago?

I took the radioactive iodine pill today and was told to come back in 4 hours. When I came back, I was told by the technician that he made a mistake and had to redo the 2-day thyroid uptake again. The technician wanted to reschedule me next week but I insisted on having it done in 2 days. I was wondering if the result would affect my having taken the radioactive iodine pill 2 days ago? Anyone had a similar incident happen?
